Join Johnson Controls as an HVAC Installation Laborer in St. John’s and play a crucial role in our busy summer season. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead HVAC technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Prepare work sites by setting up equipment, gathering materials, and ensuring a safe environment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles.
- Perform basic tasks such as cutting and fastening materials, drilling holes, and cleaning up work areas.
- Help with the safe handling and positioning of HVAC units and components.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site and company vehicles.
- Learn and apply basic HVAC principles and techniques under supervision.
- Provide general labor support to the team as needed to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from various job sites.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and following instructions diligently.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, rooftops).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, general labor, or a related trade.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Completion of a vocational training program or related coursework.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction safety certification.
