Job Description
XPO Logistics is seeking experienced and reliable Independent Contractor Truck Drivers to join our dynamic network. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport goods across designated routes in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and submit all required documentation promptly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle and and equipment.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shippers, and receivers.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and FMCSA.
- Manage your own schedule and route planning efficiently, utilizing the 'no forced dispatch' model.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable over-the-road (OTR) or relevant trucking experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Ownership of a well-maintained, DOT-compliant tractor.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various trailer types (dry van, reefer, flatbed).
- Hazmat endorsement.
- TWIC card.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Business acumen for managing an independent operation.
