Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Center City, Philadelphia. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a strong aptitude for numbers and a keen interest in financial analysis, particularly those with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, performing data analysis, creating reports, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models and reports using advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, data validation, conditional formatting, macros/VBA).
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports.
- Conduct variance analysis, identifying key trends and discrepancies to support management decision-making.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by collecting data, preparing inputs, and analyzing financial projections.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure data integrity.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting and analysis processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, macros/VBA basics).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in a finance or analytical role.
- Familiarity with financial software and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI).
- Knowledge of VBA for Excel automation.
- Progress towards CFA or other relevant professional certifications.
