Job Description
Truist Bank is seeking a meticulous and highly reliable Junior Vault Assistant to join our dedicated team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This on-site role is paramount to ensuring the secure and accurate handling of cash and other financial instruments within our bank vault. The successful candidate will be responsible for precise inventory management, transaction processing, and strict adherence to all security protocols and compliance standards. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of accuracy in a dynamic banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count, sort, and process large volumes of cash and other negotiable instruments daily.
- Maintain precise records of all vault transactions, ensuring daily reconciliation and balancing.
- Strictly adhere to all bank security procedures, internal controls, and compliance regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and receipt of currency and coin shipments from various sources.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate documentation and information.
- Operate and maintain vault equipment, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any issues.
- Collaborate effectively with branch team members to ensure seamless operational flow and client service.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or suspicious activities immediately to management.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong basic mathematical skills for efficient counting, reconciliation, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- High degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in cash handling, treasury operations, or a related financial role.
- Previous experience working within a bank or credit union environment.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards (e.g., BSA, AML).
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
