Job Description

RONA in Kitchener is offering an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to learn the art of laminate floor installation from the ground up. No prior experience is required – just a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop practical skills, work with their hands, and contribute to transforming homes and spaces. You’ll be part of a supportive team, receiving hands-on training and guidance every step of the way, setting you on a path to becoming a skilled flooring professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced installers in preparing job sites, including clearing furniture and removing existing flooring.
- Learn and practice the proper techniques for measuring, cutting, and laying laminate flooring planks.
- Help with the installation of underlayment, trim, and baseboards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are handled safely.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines during installations.
- Support the team with various tasks as needed to ensure project completion.
- Develop a strong understanding of different flooring types and installation methods.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with basic hand tools or power tools (e.g., measuring tape, utility knife).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites (within Kitchener area).
- Enthusiasm for craftsmanship and home improvement.
