Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Log File & Error Annotator to join our IT Support Junior team in Calgary. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in IT, focusing on critical data analysis and support functions. You will be responsible for reviewing, categorizing, and annotating log files and error reports generated by various IT systems. Your work will directly contribute to identifying patterns, troubleshooting issues, and improving the stability and performance of our infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain foundational experience in IT operations, data analysis, and support processes within a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically review and analyze log files and error messages from IT systems and applications.
- Accurately categorize and annotate log entries based on predefined criteria and severity levels.
- Identify recurring errors, anomalies, and potential issues within the log data.
- Collaborate with senior IT support and development teams to clarify ambiguities in log data.
- Maintain detailed records of annotations and findings in our internal knowledge base.
- Assist in the development and refinement of annotation guidelines and procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring and alerting systems.
- Provide basic IT support assistance as needed, learning from experienced team members.
Required Skills
