Job Description

As a Medical Oxygen Driver at Lincare, you will play a crucial role in delivering vital medical oxygen and equipment directly to our patients’ homes. This essential service ensures that individuals requiring respiratory support receive their supplies reliably and punctually. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who values patient care, safety, and efficiency. This position offers stable employment and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, operating primarily within the local Pasco County area. You will be responsible for safe driving, equipment handling, and basic patient interaction, adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver medical oxygen cylinders and related durable medical equipment to patient residences and healthcare facilities.
  • Load and unload medical equipment, including oxygen tanks, concentrators, and other respiratory devices, ensuring proper handling and securing.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Provide basic instruction to patients or caregivers on the safe and proper use of delivered equipment.
  • Complete necessary delivery documentation, including manifests, delivery tickets, and service forms accurately and legibly.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, including DOT regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs regularly).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in delivery or logistics, especially in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical oxygen equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting.
  • CPR certification.
