Job Description
Are you a talented guitarist or keyboardist with a passion for helping others discover their musical journey? PMT Music in Leatherhead is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Musical Instrument Sales Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who loves to demonstrate products, engage with customers, and drive sales through their expert knowledge and genuine love for music. You will be instrumental in providing an outstanding retail experience, guiding customers through our extensive range of guitars, keyboards, and related accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers on the sales floor, identifying their needs and recommending suitable musical instruments and accessories.
- Perform live product demonstrations of guitars and keyboards, showcasing features and benefits to potential buyers.
- Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to store profitability through excellent customer service and product knowledge.
- Maintain a deep understanding of current musical instrument trends, new products, and competitive offerings.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, card, and finance payments.
- Assist with merchandising, stock replenishment, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Provide after-sales support and build lasting customer relationships.
- Participate in store events, workshops, and product launches as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in playing guitar and/or keyboards (demonstrable ability is essential).
- Proven experience in a customer-facing sales role, preferably within retail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- A genuine passion for musical instruments and the music industry.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy for POS systems and stock management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience selling musical instruments.
- Knowledge of various musical genres and instrument brands.
- Formal music education or a degree in music.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
