Job Description

As an Online Virtual Service Agent – Retail & Sales, you will be the first point of contact for Macy’s online customers, providing exceptional support, resolving inquiries, and driving sales through personalized interactions. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to a dynamic retail environment. You will assist customers with product information, order tracking, returns, and general inquiries, ensuring a seamless and positive shopping experience. Your ability to engage customers, understand their needs, and effectively recommend products will be key to your success in this role, helping Macy’s maintain its reputation for outstanding service and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via chat, email, and phone in a timely and professional manner, adhering to service level agreements.
  • Provide comprehensive product information, styling advice, and support for online purchases, guiding customers through their shopping journey.
  • Assist customers with order placement, tracking, modifications, and returns/exchanges, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify sales opportunities and recommend products or promotions to enhance the customer's shopping experience and drive revenue.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues with empathy and efficiency, escalating complex cases to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in the CRM system, ensuring data integrity.
  • Stay up-to-date with Macy's products, services, policies, and promotional campaigns to provide accurate and current information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence across all touchpoints.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service orientation and advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using virtual communication tools (chat, email, phone) and navigating multiple systems.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with online platforms and e-commerce systems.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high productivity in a remote environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a call center environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
  • Proven experience with sales or upselling techniques.
