Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pain Management Nurse with a strong clinical focus to join our dynamic team in New Port Richey. This is a stable Monday-Friday position, offering a consistent schedule and no weekend or evening shifts. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing acute and chronic pain, utilizing evidence-based practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and promote optimal patient outcomes in a specialized pain management clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examination, health history, and pain assessment.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized pain management care plans in collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including intravenous infusions, nerve blocks, and other interventional procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, medication regimens, and self-care strategies.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications and interventions, documenting findings and reporting to the physician.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Provide empathetic support and counseling to patients and families coping with chronic pain.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Ensure a safe and clean clinical environment for patients and staff.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with pain management experience
- Experience in pain management, rehabilitation, or a related specialty area
- ACLS certification
