Job Description

Join Utah Legal Services as a Part-time Intake Specialist with a crucial weekend focus. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking legal assistance, primarily focusing on cases with a legal and social services overlap. You will conduct initial screenings, gather essential information, provide empathetic support, and help guide applicants through the intake process. This position requires strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work independently on weekends to ensure our clients receive timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial telephone and in-person interviews with prospective clients to gather case information and assess eligibility for services.
  • Accurately input client data and case details into our case management system.
  • Provide clear and concise information about Utah Legal Services programs, processes, and available resources.
  • Identify urgent cases requiring immediate attention and escalate them appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with legal staff and social workers to ensure seamless client transitions and comprehensive support.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries during weekend hours.
  • Contribute to a supportive and respectful environment for all clients and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in data entry and experience with case management software or CRM systems.

  • Understanding of legal terminology and basic legal processes.
