Job Description

Are you an experienced Class A CDL driver with a love for the open road and a furry friend you can’t imagine leaving behind? Swift Transportation is seeking dedicated and safe drivers for our Pet Friendly Trucking program. This is a unique opportunity to continue your career as a professional truck driver while enjoying the companionship of your dog. You’ll be responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods across designated routes, upholding our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, all with your best co-pilot by your side.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle over long distances.
  • Transport goods to and from various locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, including FMCSA guidelines.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo.
  • Manage your time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of your assigned truck.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR (Over-the-Road) driving experience
  • Clean driving record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely operate various types of trucking equipment
  • Commitment to safety and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with refrigerated freight or specialized hauling
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and related technology
  • Proven track record of on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction
  • Hazmat endorsement
