Are you passionate about pets and eager to start a career in professional pet grooming? PetSmart in New Port Richey, FL is seeking a motivated Pet Grooming Offsider to join our team! This entry-level role is perfect for individuals with no prior experience in grooming, as comprehensive training in dog washing, basic grooming techniques, and salon operations will be provided. As an Offsider, you will play a crucial supporting role in our grooming salon, ensuring a safe, clean, and positive experience for all our furry clients and their parents. You’ll assist our certified groomers, learn the ropes, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the salon.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist professional pet groomers with handling dogs during bathing and drying processes.
- Perform thorough dog washes, conditioning treatments, and basic blow-drying according to PetSmart standards.
- Prepare grooming areas by setting up equipment and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the grooming salon, including tubs, tables, tools, and common areas.
- Assist with checking in and checking out pets, ensuring proper documentation.
- Monitor pet behavior and report any concerns to the groomers.
- Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and animal handling guidelines.
- Support inventory management and restocking of grooming supplies.
- Engage with pet parents in a friendly and professional manner, answering basic questions and directing advanced inquiries to groomers.
