Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pinterest Community Safety Officer to join our Corporate Governance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our platform and community by addressing complex safety issues, enforcing policies, and contributing to the development of our safety protocols. You will work closely with legal, product, and engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring Pinterest remains a trusted and inspiring place for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve high-priority community safety incidents, including content violations, user abuse, and other policy breaches.
  • Apply Pinterest's community guidelines and corporate governance policies consistently and accurately to various user-generated content.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, trust & safety, and public policy teams on complex cases requiring inter-departmental review.
  • Identify emerging safety trends and provide actionable insights to inform policy updates and product improvements.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of training materials and workflows for content moderation and safety operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of investigations, actions taken, and policy interpretations.
  • Represent the corporate governance perspective in cross-functional projects related to platform integrity and user safety.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Public Policy, Criminology, Communications).
  • 3+ years of experience in trust & safety, content moderation, risk management, or corporate governance within a technology or social media company.
  • Strong understanding of online safety challenges, content policies, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with legal teams on compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Familiarity with international content regulations and cultural nuances.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and contributing to policy development.
  • Experience with case management systems and incident tracking software.
