Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of all incoming and outgoing beauty products to ensure they meet Ulta Beauty’s stringent quality standards. This hands-on position requires exceptional attention to detail, a keen eye for discrepancies, and a commitment to upholding product integrity. You will play a crucial part in guaranteeing our customers receive only the best products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive visual and functional inspections of beauty products, packaging, and labeling according to established specifications.
- Identify and meticulously document any defects, non-conformances, or inconsistencies in product quality, appearance, or quantity.
- Verify product expiry dates, batch codes, and regulatory compliance on all items.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, logs, and reports using internal systems.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse, inventory, and production teams to communicate quality issues and facilitate timely resolutions.
- Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality deviations and support corrective action implementation.
- Adhere strictly to all company quality control procedures, safety guidelines, and industry best practices (e.g., GMP).
- Operate basic inspection tools and equipment as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observation skills.
- Ability to distinguish colors, textures, and subtle product variations accurately.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record keeping (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality control, inspection, or a related role within manufacturing, retail, or a distribution center.
- Familiarity with beauty products, cosmetics, skincare, or fragrance industry standards.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or similar quality systems.
- Experience with inventory management systems or quality management software.
