Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote macOS Systems Administrator to join our enterprise IT support team. This critical role involves providing advanced technical support and administration for our macOS ecosystem across a global enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in macOS operating systems, Apple hardware, and related enterprise management tools, ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of all Mac devices. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level remote technical support for macOS users within an enterprise setting.
- Administer and maintain Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, or similar MDM solutions for macOS device management.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot macOS software, applications, and updates.
- Implement and enforce security policies and best practices for macOS devices.
- Manage macOS patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and maintain documentation for macOS systems, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate macOS into existing enterprise infrastructure.
- Perform routine system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning for macOS environments.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotation for critical incidents.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience administering macOS in an enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency with macOS operating systems (Ventura, Sonoma, etc.).
- Expertise in macOS MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune).
- Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, AppleScript) for automation.
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and enterprise networking.
- Experience with identity management (Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Jamf 300/400 Certification.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Experience with enterprise-level security tools for macOS (e.g., endpoint detection and response).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in relation to macOS integration.
- Experience supporting iOS/iPadOS devices.
