Job Description
As a Retail Finance Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our retail establishment. This position involves meticulous data entry, reconciliation of daily transactions, and assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the smooth financial flow of our business. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position, offering a consistent schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliation of sales, cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
- Enter financial data into the accounting system with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare daily and weekly financial reports for management review.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and tracking.
- Handle basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks as needed.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Respond to financial inquiries from store management and internal departments.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Assist in preparing for audits by providing necessary financial documents and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Required Skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in a retail finance or accounting role.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
