Job Description

Join Next as a Retail Window Display Assistant, providing crucial visual support to our store in Leicester. This role is perfect for a creative individual with an eye for detail, eager to learn and contribute to the visual storytelling that defines our brand. You will assist in executing captivating window displays and in-store visual merchandising, ensuring our products are presented in an engaging and attractive manner to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive sales. This is a hands-on position requiring enthusiasm, a willingness to work collaboratively, and a passion for retail aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Visual Merchandiser in the installation and dismantling of window and in-store displays, following brand guidelines.
  • Prepare props, mannequins, and merchandise for display according to visual plans.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of display areas and storage spaces.
  • Support the rotation of seasonal merchandise and promotional displays.
  • Help ensure all visual elements are correctly lit, positioned, and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Provide feedback on display effectiveness and customer engagement.
  • Assist with inventory management related to display items and props.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations during display setup and takedown.

Required Skills

  • Strong visual aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of retail display principles or a keen interest in visual merchandising.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving display materials.
  • Enthusiasm for fashion, home decor, and retail environments.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail environment, particularly in a visual merchandising capacity (even if informal).
  • A portfolio or examples of personal creative projects.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools.
  • Art or design-related coursework or certifications.
