Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dedicated Golf Course Maintenance team as a Sand Trap Raker. This critical role ensures the pristine condition of our golf course’s numerous sand traps, contributing significantly to the overall playability and aesthetic appeal of the course. The position requires early morning shifts and involves physical work in an outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Rake and maintain all sand traps across the golf course to established club standards.
- Ensure proper sand levels and even distribution within each trap.
- Remove debris, rocks, leaves, and any foreign objects from sand traps regularly.
- Edge and shape sand traps to maintain their defined contours.
- Operate light equipment and hand tools, such as rakes and blowers, safely and efficiently.
- Communicate any observed issues, damage, or inconsistencies to the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures while working on the course.
- Assist with other general golf course maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform sustained physical labor, including bending, lifting, and raking, in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and consistency.
- Exceptional reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of golf course etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping.
- Familiarity with golf course operations and maintenance standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California driver's license.
