Job Description
Are you passionate about video games and eager to kickstart your career in game development? Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a motivated Scripting Assistant for our Quality Assurance team. This is a unique work-from-home opportunity to learn the ropes of game development, specifically focusing on scripting and QA processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our games by testing scripts, identifying bugs, and collaborating with development teams. If you have a foundational understanding of scripting and an insatiable curiosity for how games are made, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases for game scripts and features across various platforms.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using established bug tracking systems.
- Collaborate with game designers, programmers, and QA leads to understand script functionality and requirements.
- Perform regression testing to ensure bug fixes are implemented correctly and do not introduce new issues.
- Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and testing methodologies.
- Learn and apply new scripting languages, tools, and game development concepts as required.
- Provide clear, concise, and thorough feedback on game stability and user experience.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Lua, JavaScript) or similar logical programming concepts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Passion for video games and a strong desire to learn game development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) or game development tools.
- Basic knowledge of QA methodologies and principles.
- Experience playing Blizzard Entertainment titles.
