Job Description
Join Grimmway Farms as a Seasonal Fruit Picker, contributing to our mission of delivering the freshest produce to tables across the country. This physically demanding role involves working outdoors in various orchard environments, meticulously picking and sorting a variety of fruits. You will be an essential part of our harvest team, ensuring the quality and efficiency of our seasonal operations. Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick a variety of fruits by hand, following specific quality and ripeness guidelines.
- Sort and pack harvested fruits into appropriate containers, ensuring minimal damage.
- Operate basic orchard equipment safely, such as ladders and picking platforms, as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the orchard.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, especially those related to food safety and hygiene.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily harvest quotas.
- Report any fruit damage, pest issues, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, sun, light rain).
- Capable of lifting and carrying moderate weights (up to 30 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity for delicate fruit handling.
- Reliable transportation to and from orchard locations (details provided upon hiring).
