Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Shipping Packer and play a vital role in our essential logistics operations. This position involves meticulously packing and preparing various goods for shipment, ensuring they meet our high standards for safety, integrity, and timely delivery. You will work within a climate-controlled indoor environment, safeguarding products regardless of external weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pack items according to specific shipping requirements, safety guidelines, and company procedures.
- Inspect items for quality assurance and ensure proper labeling before packaging.
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient packing station.
- Operate basic packing equipment such as tape dispensers, label printers, and scales.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of all packing tasks and daily quotas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and count items accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all packing tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining operational efficiency.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 35 lbs independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, packing, or shipping role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or handheld scanners.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
