Job Description

MDA Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Space Tourism & Commercial Spaceflight Intern to join our innovative team in Timmins. This is a unique opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic industry, contributing to market research, strategic analysis, and project support for our commercial space initiatives. You will work alongside industry experts, gaining invaluable insight into the economic, technological, and regulatory aspects of space tourism and private space ventures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research on global space tourism trends, competitor analysis, and emerging commercial spaceflight technologies.
- Assist in the analysis of potential business models and opportunities within the commercial space and space tourism sectors.
- Support project teams by gathering data, preparing reports, and summarizing findings related to new space ventures and strategic partnerships.
- Contribute to the development of presentations and proposals for internal stakeholders and potential external partners.
- Learn about and help analyze the regulatory frameworks and safety standards impacting commercial spaceflight operations.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for MDA's future involvement in space tourism.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated strong research and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A strong, demonstrable passion for space exploration, commercial space industry, and space tourism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with data analysis tools or market research methodologies.
- Basic understanding of aerospace principles or the commercial space ecosystem.
- Experience in project coordination or participating in team-based projects.
