Job Description

Are you a passionate and creative student looking to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing? Kohl’s is seeking a motivated Student Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team in Milwaukee. This role is perfect for someone eager to develop and execute social media strategies, create engaging content, and analyze performance to drive brand awareness and customer engagement. You’ll work closely with our marketing professionals, contributing directly to campaigns that reach millions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of social media marketing strategies across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, X).
  • Create compelling and shareable content, including text, image, and video, aligned with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, engagement, and customer feedback, reporting insights to the marketing team.
  • Schedule and publish social media posts using content management tools.
  • Support social media campaigns, influencer partnerships, and community management efforts.
  • Conduct competitive research and stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices and platform features.
  • Assist with performance tracking and analytics, helping to generate reports on social media campaign effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their respective best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and an eye for engaging visual content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with basic content creation tools (e.g., Canva, basic video editing software).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing social media accounts (personal or professional).
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, native platform insights).
  • Basic understanding of SEO and content marketing principles.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus.
