Job Description
Join the esteemed team at The Paramount Theatre as a Theater Usher & Ticket Checker. This quiet role is perfect for individuals who appreciate the performing arts and prefer evening work. You will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests by efficiently checking tickets, guiding patrons to their seats, and maintaining a calm, orderly environment within the theatre. We are looking for reliable, observant, and customer-focused individuals to uphold our high standards of service in a historic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patrons warmly and scan/check tickets accurately upon entry.
- Direct guests to their assigned seats efficiently and politely.
- Provide general information about the venue, facilities, and upcoming events.
- Maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere in seating areas during performances.
- Assist with crowd control and ensure orderly entry and exit.
- Monitor theatre sections for any issues, such as lost items or disruptive behavior, and report to management.
- Ensure emergency exits and pathways are clear and accessible at all times.
- Distribute programs or informational materials as required.
- Assist patrons with special needs, ensuring accessibility and comfort.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and theatre policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and navigate stairs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite demeanor.
- Reliability and punctuality for evening shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a quiet, focused environment.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a theatre environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with theatre etiquette and event operations.
- First Aid/CPR certification (desirable, but not required).
- A passion for the performing arts.
