Job Description
UPS is seeking dedicated and reliable Package Delivery Drivers to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. As a UPS Driver, you will be a critical part of our logistics network, responsible for delivering and picking up packages safely and efficiently. This role requires excellent time management skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the physical ability to handle packages of various sizes and weights. You will operate a company-owned vehicle, ensuring all deliveries are made accurately and on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a UPS package delivery vehicle safely and in compliance with company and traffic regulations.
- Deliver and pick up packages promptly and accurately to various residential and business locations.
- Verify package contents, obtain signatures, and collect payments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pick-ups using handheld devices.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (Class C or higher, depending on vehicle type).
- Clean driving record for at least the past three years.
- Ability to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Excellent spatial awareness and navigational skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or professional driving role.
- Familiarity with the New Port Richey and surrounding Pasco County areas.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices.
