Job Description

Are you looking for reliable, ongoing work in a supportive team environment? Home Depot Canada in Markham is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Window Shutter Assistant to join our growing installation services team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced installers, assisting with the measurement, preparation, and installation of various window shutters. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone eager to learn a trade, work with their hands, and contribute to transforming homes. We offer comprehensive training for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the precise measurement of windows for shutter installations.
  • Prepare work areas, including protecting flooring and furniture, and setting up tools and materials.
  • Help with the unpacking, inspection, and organization of shutter components.
  • Support the installation process by holding, positioning, and securing shutter frames and panels.
  • Perform minor adjustments and finishes as directed by the lead installer.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Markham location.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to punctuality and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, carpentry, or home improvement.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and angles.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record (asset).
  • Customer service experience.
