Job Description

Are you passionate about video games and looking for a flexible role that fits around your family schedule? Epic Games is seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Playtesters in Sandy, Utah, to join our team. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute to the development of exciting new games by providing crucial feedback, all while working hours that align with your children’s school day. You’ll play upcoming titles, identify bugs, provide constructive criticism, and help ensure the best possible player experience before games reach millions worldwide. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively playtest pre-release game builds across various platforms and genres.
  • Identify, document, and report bugs, glitches, and usability issues with precision.
  • Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, design, and overall player experience.
  • Participate in group play sessions and discussions to gather diverse perspectives.
  • Complete surveys and written reports detailing observations and suggestions.
  • Collaborate effectively with game development teams to improve game quality.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all unreleased content.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for video games and familiarity with various genres and platforms.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly articulate thoughts, ideas, and feedback, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with navigating game menus and systems.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to scheduled playtesting sessions.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and provide specific feedback as requested.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in game testing, QA, or a similar role (even informal).
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Asana).
  • Experience with Epic Games' titles or the Unreal Engine ecosystem.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically about game design.
  • Experience playing games competitively or in a dedicated community.
