Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to various CVS Pharmacy locations as assigned, covering staffing needs and special projects.
  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient counseling support.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, order supplies, and manage medication stock.
  • Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as CVS Health policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service, resolving patient inquiries and ensuring a positive pharmacy experience.
  • Operate pharmacy technology systems, including point-of-sale and prescription processing software.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians at various locations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or supervising Pharmacist.

Required Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from PTCB or NHA.
  • Active state Pharmacy Technician license in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, drug names, and dosage calculations.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively within a specified geographic region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CVS Health pharmacy systems and procedures.
  • Associate's Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance plans and third-party billing.
  • Experience training or mentoring other pharmacy technicians.
