Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented International Shipping Clerk to join our team in Wesley Chapel. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and compliant processing of international shipments, handling documentation, customs requirements, and customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international shipping regulations and excellent organizational skills. A multilingual bonus is offered for proficiency in additional languages relevant to international trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process international shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Verify accuracy of shipping information, including product descriptions, values, and Harmonized System (HS) codes.
- Liaise with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
- Track international shipments and provide status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding international shipping procedures, costs, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all international trade laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to international shipments.
- Maintain organized records of all international shipping activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in international shipping or logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Fluency in Spanish, French, German, or Mandarin (for multilingual bonus).
- Experience with FedEx shipping software and systems.
- Certification in International Trade Specialist (CITS) or similar.
