Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Policy Aide to join our Public Sector team in Riverside, CA, with a specific focus on national infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, analysis, and implementation of cybersecurity policies and frameworks that safeguard critical national assets. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, policy development, and a keen interest in national security and infrastructure protection. This position is designed for individuals looking to build a career in cybersecurity policy, working alongside seasoned experts to address complex challenges facing our nation’s most vital systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research, analysis, and drafting of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines related to national infrastructure.
- Support senior consultants in assessing existing cybersecurity frameworks and identifying gaps or areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of strategic recommendations for enhancing the resilience and security of critical infrastructure sectors.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, including interviews, workshops, and presentations with government agencies and private sector partners.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes relevant to national infrastructure protection.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and other documentation to communicate policy analysis and recommendations to clients.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate cybersecurity policy considerations into broader infrastructure projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and international cybersecurity policy trends and best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, policy analysis, or a related government/defense consulting role.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and policy issues clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience or coursework focused on national security, critical infrastructure, or homeland security.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar.
- Familiarity with specific national infrastructure sectors (e.g., energy, transportation, water, communications).
- Experience working in a consulting environment or with government clients.
