Job Description

Are you a compassionate and tech-savvy individual who loves helping others? Chewy is seeking a dedicated Customer Care Assistant to join our remote team, specializing in online and chat support. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet parents, resolving inquiries, providing product information, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience through digital channels. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office while being a vital part of our supportive community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service through live chat and email channels, addressing inquiries about orders, products, services, and general pet care.
  • Assist pet parents with navigating the Chewy website, placing orders, managing their autoship subscriptions, and handling returns or exchanges.
  • Troubleshoot common issues and provide accurate, helpful solutions in a timely manner, escalating complex problems to the appropriate internal teams when necessary.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and patience in all customer interactions, ensuring a positive brand experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including fulfillment and product teams, to resolve complex customer concerns and gather feedback.
  • Document all customer interactions, inquiries, and resolutions accurately in our CRM system, maintaining detailed records.
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, company policies, service updates, and industry best practices to provide informed support.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in typing and navigating multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • High-speed internet connection (minimum recommended speed) and a dedicated, quiet home workspace free from distractions.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to help others and create positive experiences.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with online communication tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in a customer service role, particularly in online chat or email support within an e-commerce setting.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk, Kustomer).
  • Passion for pets and foundational knowledge of pet products or animal care.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or equivalent work experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of customer interactions while maintaining quality standards.
