Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Concrete Mixer Driver to join our South Bend team for local site work. This is an immediate start position for a dedicated individual ready to transport and deliver concrete to various construction sites efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of concrete mixing operations, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to maintaining vehicle integrity. You will be an essential part of our construction supply chain, ensuring our projects receive materials on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a concrete mixer truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport freshly mixed concrete from the plant to various job sites.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting any issues.
  • Ensure proper loading, unloading, and discharge of concrete according to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery tickets, and other required paperwork.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations and company safety policies.
  • Keep the truck clean and well-maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and job site crews.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, including yard work or vehicle maintenance tasks.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
  • Experience operating heavy vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience specifically as a Concrete Mixer Driver
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with local South Bend and surrounding area roadways
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction safety certification
