Job Description
Join the Target team as a Bulk Stock Mover in our large format retail store located in Pomona, CA. In this ongoing full-time role, you will be a crucial part of our operations, responsible for efficiently receiving, organizing, and moving large quantities of merchandise from our backroom to the sales floor. You will ensure that products are stocked accurately, safely, and in a timely manner, contributing directly to a positive shopping experience for our guests and the overall success of the store. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming merchandise, verifying counts against manifests.
- Safely and efficiently move large and bulky stock from receiving areas to storage or sales floor locations using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, ensuring items are stored logically, safely, and accessible.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays on the sales floor according to planograms and merchandising standards.
- Assist in inventory counts and loss prevention efforts.
- Operate balers or compactors for cardboard and other waste materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise frequently (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing stock.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or stockroom setting.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
