Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Voice Assistant Trainer with a strong focus on pronunciation to join our innovative AI team. In this 100% remote role, you will play a critical part in enhancing the linguistic accuracy and naturalness of our voice assistant technologies. You will analyze speech data, identify pronunciation nuances, and provide expert feedback to improve our AI models, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for millions globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate large datasets of spoken language to identify pronunciation inconsistencies and errors in our voice assistant models.
  • Provide detailed phonetic and phonological feedback to improve the accuracy and naturalness of synthetic speech.
  • Develop and implement specific training protocols and guidelines to address identified pronunciation challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with linguists, speech scientists, and software engineers to refine and enhance voice assistant capabilities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality and annotation standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in speech technology and linguistics and apply best practices to your work.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional understanding of phonetics, phonology, and linguistic principles.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using speech analysis tools and software (e.g., Praat, Audacity).
  • Fluent in English with native-level pronunciation and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate linguistic observations and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Phonetics, Speech Language Pathology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with voice assistant technologies, speech recognition, or text-to-speech systems.
  • Familiarity with data annotation, transcription, or linguistic analysis tasks.
  • Experience in language teaching, pronunciation coaching, or speech therapy.
