Job Description
We are actively seeking dedicated and energetic individuals to join our FedEx Ground team in Miami, FL, as Package Handlers. This is an immediate vacancy for full-time positions. As a Package Handler, you will be responsible for the physical loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning of packages within our facility. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from company vehicles and trailers by hand, using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Sort packages based on destination codes and routing instructions within the facility.
- Scan packages accurately to ensure proper tracking and delivery records.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of safety equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient package flow and meet daily operational goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or package damage to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (and up to 150 lbs with assistance)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately read labels and routing information
- Punctuality and reliable attendance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively with others
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor environment
- Familiarity with scanning technology or package handling procedures
