Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for a dynamic role with great pay? FedEx Ground is hiring dedicated Night Shift Package Handlers in New Port Richey, Florida. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading packages, sorting them by destination, and ensuring efficient workflow within our fast-paced hub. This position offers a high night differential pay, recognizing your commitment to our overnight operations. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from company vehicles, containers, and trailers.
- Sort packages manually or with automated equipment, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Scan packages and ensure proper documentation, identifying any damaged or misrouted items.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Operate hand-held scanners and other equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for assigned night shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions (e.g., dust, noise).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor role.
- Experience with package scanning equipment.
