Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Medication Aide in a skilled care environment. As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of our residents, assisting licensed nurses with medication administration and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, following all protocols and guidelines.
- Observe residents for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns immediately to the supervising nurse.
- Document medication administration accurately and timely in resident records.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, promoting independence and dignity.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and compassion for the elderly and those requiring skilled care.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., caregiver, CNA, patient transporter) is a plus but not required.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is highly valued, though not a prerequisite for this training-included role.
