Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Medication Aide in a skilled care environment. As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of our residents, assisting licensed nurses with medication administration and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, following all protocols and guidelines.
  • Observe residents for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns immediately to the supervising nurse.
  • Document medication administration accurately and timely in resident records.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy and compassion for the elderly and those requiring skilled care.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., caregiver, CNA, patient transporter) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is highly valued, though not a prerequisite for this training-included role.
