Job Description
We are seeking a talented and driven E-commerce Platform Engineer to join our innovative technology team in Yeovil. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the critical systems that power our online retail operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and resilient e-commerce solutions using modern microservices architectures.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of our e-commerce platform.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and contribute to architectural decision-making.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the e-commerce ecosystem.
- Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging e-commerce technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in a modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go, C#).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining large-scale e-commerce platforms or distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of API design and development (RESTful, GraphQL).
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with specific e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus, Magento).
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr).
- Understanding of SEO principles and web performance optimization.
