Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Smart Contract Auditing Intern to join our Cybersecurity team in Dundee. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the cutting-edge field of blockchain security, specifically focusing on smart contract vulnerabilities and auditing methodologies. You will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals, learning to identify, analyze, and mitigate security risks in blockchain-based applications. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about cybersecurity, blockchain technology, and smart contracts, looking to kickstart their career with a leading industry player.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior auditors in performing security assessments and audits of smart contracts.
- Learn and apply various auditing tools and techniques for identifying vulnerabilities in Solidity and other smart contract languages.
- Contribute to the documentation of audit findings, including identified risks and recommended remediation strategies.
- Participate in research and development activities related to new blockchain security threats and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and integrate security from the design phase.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology and cybersecurity trends.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to the cybersecurity domain.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of smart contract concepts and Solidity.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of common web security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
