Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Forklift Yard Driver to join our team in Vacaville, CA. This role involves operating a forklift primarily in an outdoor yard environment, ensuring the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials. You will be a crucial part of our logistics operation, helping maintain organized inventory and supporting our supply chain. We provide all necessary weather gear to ensure your comfort and safety in varying outdoor conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently in an outdoor yard setting.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and railcars using a forklift.
- Transport materials, products, and equipment to designated areas within the yard and warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Accurately track and document movement of materials using scanning devices or manual logs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the yard.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding yard operations.
Required Skills
- Valid forklift certification and experience.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of inventory procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a yard driver or in a similar outdoor logistics role.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanning technology.
- Familiarity with various types of material handling equipment.
- First aid and CPR certification.
