Job Description
Kadlec Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Nutritionist Assistant (Trainee) with a focus on Health Strategy. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about nutrition, wellness, and contributing to community health initiatives. As a trainee, you will work closely with our registered dietitians and health strategists, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in various aspects of nutritional support, patient education, and program development. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the practical application of nutritional science within a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to strategic health outcomes for our community. Key Responsibilities
- Assist registered dietitians in preparing educational materials and resources for patients and community programs.
- Support the planning and execution of nutrition-focused workshops, seminars, and health events.
- Conduct basic data collection and entry related to patient dietary intake and program effectiveness.
- Maintain inventory of nutritional supplies and educational resources.
- Shadow dietitians during patient consultations and community outreach activities to learn best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health strategy initiatives related to nutrition.
- Provide administrative support to the nutrition and wellness department as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance nutritional knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated interest in nutrition, health, and wellness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of coursework related to nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field.
- Volunteer or previous experience in a healthcare, wellness, or customer service setting.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus, given the diverse community.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to obtain.
