Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Escondido, CA, specifically for weekend warrior shifts. This full-time position offers top rates for individuals committed to providing exceptional pharmacy services during peak weekend hours. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring our patients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the dispensing of prescription medications, including data entry, labeling, and filling prescriptions accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Process insurance claims and resolve basic rejections.
- Manage prescription inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Operate pharmacy cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
- Assist with medication therapy management and immunization support under pharmacist supervision.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice.
Required Skills
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and basic office software.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Availability to work consistently on weekends and possibly some evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from PTCB or NHA.
- Previous experience in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy workflow optimization strategies.
- Experience with Omnicell or similar automated dispensing systems.
