Job Description
Join FedEx Ground as a Full-Time Driver with an innovative 4-day work week schedule, designed to give you more home time without compromising your full-time pay. This role involves operating company vehicles to pick up and deliver packages efficiently and safely. You will be a vital link in our logistics chain, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the high standards of service FedEx Ground is known for. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans or trucks) to pick up and deliver packages along a designated route.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Use handheld scanning devices to record package information and delivery status.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (CDL Class A or B may be required for certain routes, but standard driver's license typically accepted for ground services).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in package delivery or commercial driving.
- Familiarity with local geographical area (Norfolk and surrounding regions).
- Experience with handheld scanning technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
