Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Associate to join our growing remote team. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for the fintech industry and an aptitude for financial analysis, reporting, and operational support. As a Financial Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, contributing to strategic initiatives, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data in a fast-paced, startup-focused environment. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a leading fintech company from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Perform detailed financial modeling and scenario planning to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance against budget and forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Marketing) to gather data and provide financial insights.
- Help develop and implement process improvements for financial operations, increasing efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in due diligence efforts for potential partnerships or acquisitions within the fintech ecosystem.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Respond to ad-hoc financial requests and projects as needed by senior management.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis (Excel mastery is a must).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks).
- Familiarity with SQL or other data querying languages.
- Knowledge of the fintech industry, startup culture, and relevant financial products.
