Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented UPS Radiography Aide to join our Imaging & Data focus team at AdventHealth in New Port Richey, Florida. This crucial role supports our radiography technologists and radiologists by managing patient flow, preparing imaging rooms, maintaining equipment, and meticulously handling patient data. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a compassionate demeanor, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring efficient and accurate operations within our diagnostic imaging department. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of patient care and contributing to the smooth functioning of our imaging services, with a specific emphasis on accurate data entry and image management protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist radiography technologists in positioning patients for various imaging procedures.
  • Prepare imaging rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment setup before each patient.
  • Transport patients safely to and from the radiography department, utilizing appropriate mobility aids.
  • Maintain an organized and well-stocked supply of linens, sterile supplies, and other necessary items.
  • Assist with patient data entry, ensuring accuracy in electronic health records and imaging systems.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Provide compassionate support and clear instructions to patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Handle and manage imaging data, ensuring proper archiving and retrieval protocols are followed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient privacy (HIPAA) guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care and workflow.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records as needed.
  • Assist in quality control activities related to imaging and data integrity.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Empathy and compassion in patient interactions.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment safely.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an imaging department.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of basic radiography procedures and patient preparation.
