Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled FedEx Certified Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team in Omaha, Nebraska. This is an immediate opening for a full-time position offering competitive benefits. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products within our warehouse and distribution center. Adherence to safety protocols and efficient handling of goods are paramount in this role to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, stack, and move products and materials.
- Verify load contents against shipping manifests or invoices, ensuring accuracy and reporting discrepancies.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse inventory, ensuring proper placement and accessibility of goods.
- Prepare items for shipment, including palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and labeling.
- Adhere to all FedEx safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including cleaning and organizing.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet daily operational targets.
Required Skills
- Valid FedEx Forklift Certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach truck forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with FedEx shipping processes and documentation.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics or distribution center environment.
