Job Description

Join the dynamic team at Ashley Furniture HomeStore as a Furniture Warehouse Handler. In this essential role, you will be part of a 2-person lift team responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of furniture items within our Santa Clarita distribution center. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and safety. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers receive their furniture in perfect condition and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in a 2-person lift team to safely load, unload, and move furniture products, including large and heavy items.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices and packing slips.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse inventory, ensuring items are stored in designated locations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks (training provided as needed).
  • Conduct routine quality checks on furniture items for damage or defects.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy furniture items regularly (with a partner).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations or willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or physically demanding role.
  • Experience with 2-person lifting techniques.
  • Familiarity with furniture handling.
