Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Ashley Furniture HomeStore as a Furniture Warehouse Handler. In this essential role, you will be part of a 2-person lift team responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of furniture items within our Santa Clarita distribution center. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and safety. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers receive their furniture in perfect condition and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in a 2-person lift team to safely load, unload, and move furniture products, including large and heavy items.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices and packing slips.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse inventory, ensuring items are stored in designated locations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks (training provided as needed).
- Conduct routine quality checks on furniture items for damage or defects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture items regularly (with a partner).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or physically demanding role.
- Experience with 2-person lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with furniture handling.
