Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Modern Skirting Gluer with a strong focus on clean home finishes to join our dedicated team in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precise installation and finishing of various types of skirting, ensuring a flawless and aesthetically pleasing result in our renovation projects. This role requires an eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that exceeds customer expectations for a pristine home finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure, cut, and install skirting boards using various materials (wood, MDF, PVC).
  • Apply adhesives and fasteners effectively to secure skirting, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
  • Perform precise mitre cuts and jointing to achieve seamless corners and transitions.
  • Execute meticulous finishing, including sanding, filling gaps, and preparing surfaces for painting or staining.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Inspect finished work for quality assurance, rectifying any imperfections to meet high standards.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns regarding skirting installation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in skirting installation or finish carpentry.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools specific to carpentry and finishing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in carpentry or a related trade.
  • Experience with various types of architectural mouldings and trim.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
