Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Remote Housing Assistance Coordinator to join our team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by connecting individuals and families with vital housing resources and support. The successful candidate will navigate complex housing systems, provide guidance, and advocate for clients, ensuring they receive the assistance needed to secure stable and safe accommodation. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess client eligibility for various housing programs and subsidies.
  • Guide clients through the application processes for housing assistance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, provincial, and federal housing programs and policies.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with landlords, housing authorities, and other agencies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for clients facing immediate housing challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external community partners to coordinate services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • Prepare reports on program outcomes and client needs.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in both English and French (oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Empathy and a client-centered approach
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
  • Previous experience in housing support, case management, or social services
  • Knowledge of the Quebec housing market and social service network
  • Experience with database management systems relevant to client services
